Mesoscale Discussion 0365 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0544 PM CDT Sun Apr 12 2020 Areas affected...parts of central and northern Mississippa Concerning...Tornado Watch 106... Valid 122244Z - 130015Z The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 106 continues. SUMMARY...Risk for damaging winds, along with tornado potential, continues across the central and northern Mississippi portion of Tornado Watch 106. DISCUSSION...While the strongest supercell storms -- and most substantial tornado potential -- has been occurring over southern Mississippi in southeastern portions of the WW over the past 1-2 hours, severe storms just to the north continue moving east-northeastward across central Mississippi. One intense, bowing band of storms is crossing the Mississippi River/Delta region, moving east-northeastward in excess of 60 kt. Other storms with smaller-scale, strong downdrafts are indicated to the east of the larger bow. Overall, expect very strong flow aloft to continue to support well-organized storms -- and local updraft rotation -- as this convection continues crossing WW 106. Damaging winds risk will persist, along with potential for embedded tornadic spin-ups. ..Goss.. 04/12/2020 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product... ATTN...WFO...BMX...MEG...JAN...
